DJ Prophesy at The Knitting Factory - The Som Show Presents a New Year's party that pays with a balloon drop of $,2010 in cash and prizes at the stroke of midnight. DJ Prophesy is the man on the wheels of steel, and there will be a special appearance by The Northwest Photobooth, offering pics throughout the night. The party starts at 9 p.m. on New Year's Eve at The Knitting Factory, 919 W. Sprague Ave. Cost: $10; 21-and-older welcome.

Mon Cheri at The A Club - Last year's winner of the Sommy for Band of the Year, Mon Cheri closes out a stellar 2009 by headlining the New Year's Eve bash at the grand opening of The A Club, located in the former Casbah space at 416 W. Sprague Ave., at 9 p.m. on New Year's Eve. Cost: $10.

The High Holies at Lion's Lair - Winner of the 2005 Sommy for Best Bar Band, The High Holies are back together again and playing their reunion show with Space Age Fur  at 9 p.m. on New Year's Eve at The Lion's Lair, 205 W. Riverside Ave. Cost $5.

The Deadones at The Blvd. - It's going to be a very punk-rock New Year with bands The Deadones, Lack of Respect, Laylah's Drink, Random Noise and Riverside Breakdown at 9 p.m. on New Year's Eve at The Blvd., 230 W. Riverside Ave. Cost: $7, 21-and-older welcome.
