Silver Lake indie-rock band Local Natives have been getting a ton of press lately, drawing many comparison's to 10 minutes ago hipster darlings Fleet Foxes.

They've also been described by Pitchfork as "afropop-influences guitars with hyperactive drumming and three-part harmonies," which sounds kinda silly when you think about.

If you dig Seattle's Fleet Foxes (and 1970s Nigerian funk, apparently), then you definitely don't want to miss Local Natives when they come to town on Tuesday, May 25, to Empyrean Coffee House, 171 S. Washington St.

Check out "Sun Hands" by Local Natives in the mp3 section on The Som Show front page.
