Check out this brand new horror movie short starring local musician/graphic designer/scientist and filmmaker Kimberly Wescott.
Exposure - Spokane 48 Hour Film Festival Edit from Brian Immel on Vimeo.
The mini-film is called "Exposure," and it was a made as an entry for the First Night Spokane 48 Hour Film Festival.
Each team entrant had to pull a genre out of a hat and there were four prerequisites for the competition, which included:
Theme: in the land of make believe
Prop: ziplock bag
Location: restaurant
Dialogue: "Is it your head, arms, legs, what? Just tell me!"
Wescott and the gang had the extra challenge of keeping their horror film family friendly for the First Night crowd.
Not only does Wescott pull off a convincing performance as the main character, she also co-wrote, co-produced and helped score the project, along with local photographer/musician Rajah Bose, and filmmaker friends, Director Brian Immel and Script Master Amanda Vilbrandt.
It's a silent movie, but the dialogue requirement is achieved in the lyrics to the song, "Just Tell Me Baby," which is heard during the restaurant scene. Wescott played all of the instuments on Garage Band on "Just Tell Me Baby," while Vilbrandt sang lead vocals.
You can listen to "Just Tell Me Baby," in the mp3 section on The Som Show front page.
Bravo!
