Even if you don't know how to pronounce their last name, their songs are easy to fall in love with and their craftsmanship is unmistakable. Bill Mallonee - Lead singer of the Vigilantes of Love, Bill Mallonee has been adding to his extensive discography by releasing Vol. 8 of his Works (in) Progress Administration Series. The latest installment, out last month, is titled Coal Dust Soul. Get a taste when Bill Mallonee headlines a show with local singer-songwriter powerhouse Karli Fairbanks at 7 p.m. on Friday on Friday, July 16, at Empyrean Coffee House, 171 S. Sallie Ford - Emerging out of Portland's venerable indie scene, Sallie Ford and the Sound Outside are swinging back through town, bringing sultry soulful chops and her Sound Outside band. This one's for the dancers, at 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 17, at Empyrean Coffee House, 171 S. Washington St.
Rhonda Vincent - Bluegrass star and mistress of the mandolin, Rhonda Vincent has spread her wings, parting ways with Rounder Records, after more than a decade on the respected indie label. Vincent is still bringing it to the fans, appearing at 7:30 pm. on Friday , July 16, at The Bing Crosby Theater, 901 W. Sprague Ave. Cost: $20 in advance, $22 at the door.
Sam Endress - Rocket Market favorite Sam Endress will be respectfully and reasonably rocking the market, playing popular covers and his own locally popular originals at 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 17, at Rocket Market, 726 E. 43rd Ave. Cost: Free.
