Dubblestuff - While the Spokane Jazz Orchestra will be swinging at The Bing this weekend, one of its former young lions, guitarist Mike Frederick, comes back to Spokane with his funky-jazz band, Doublestuff. The sextet also includes drummer Chris Teal, who ex-CenterStagers will remember from Ella's Supper Club. Frederick and Teal joined Doublestuff after moving to Rochester, NY, to attend the Eastman School of Music. Welcome back Teal and Frederick as they play a show with singer-songwriter Danny Songhurst at 9 p.m., Friday, March 12, at Sunset Junction, 1801 W. Sunset Blvd. Cost: $10.

 

Applseed Cast - Kansas post-rock quartet Appleseed Cast has a strong following of indie hipsters, so expect a full house when Appleseed Cast comes back for a show with Dreamed at 7 p.m., Thursday, March 11, at Empyrean Coffee House, 171 S. Washington St.. Cost: To be announced.

 

The Globes - One of the highlights at this year's Sommy Awards, Seattle-by-way-of-Spokane experimental indie-rock band The Globes return for a show before heading to SXSW. See The Globes with Blunt Mechanics and Stockholm at 7 p.m., Saturday, Marhc 13, at Empyrean Coffee House, 171 S. Washington St.. Cost: $6.

 

EOTO - Featuring The String Cheese Incident members Jason Hann and Michael Travis, Kyle Hollingsworth and Michael King,  perform live loops in their EOTO mode. See it in action when EOTO appears at 9 p.m., Monday, March 15, at The Blvd., 230 W. Riverside Ave. Cost: $8.

 

The Makepeace Brothers - Self-described as an "upbeat version of Simon and Garfunkle meets Jack Johnson," The Makepeace Brothers - Finian, Cairan, Aiden, and Liam -- formed a band after a family roadtrip across the U.S. Now they're touring together and singing songs about love, peace, and inspiration. The Makepeace Brothers with Heroshine, Mick Croon and Citizen appear at 7:30 p.m., Friday, March 12, at The Knitting Factory Concert House, 919 W. Sprague Ave. Cost: $5 in advance, $7 day of show.
