Will Rock for Food Drive - Local hard rock groups are banding together for a good cause when The Som Show presents the Second Harvest Food Bank's Will Rock For Food concert. The show features Sandpoint's Illusion 33 with local In-Flux, London's Get Down's Jimmy Arguello, Paid Under Envy and Phirst Impressions. The event happens at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 19, at The Knitting Factory Concert House, 919 W. Sprague Ave. Cost: $5 in advance, $8 day of show, or $5 with a food donation.
Caterina Remodel Kickoff Weekend Pt. 1 - Caterina Winery is closing for renovations, but not without a pair of parties to mark the event. Both shows are highlighted by affiliated members of multiple local music groups. The first installment of this special Platform Presents show is a psychedelic rock onslaught with Oil of Angels, Space Station Revival, Hallelujah Soul Explosion, and Henry Nordstrom and Vaughn Wood, at 8 p.m. on Friday, December 18, at Caterina Winery, 905 N. Washington St. Cost: $5; all-ages welcome.
Caterina Remodel Kickoff Weekend Pt. 2 - The second phase of Caterina's Remodel Weekend brings together all of the bands that spiral around the prog-rockin' elite Belt of Vapor core, including BoV with Beluga, Fjords and Seafloor Spreading, at 8 p.m. on Saturday, December 19, at Caterina Winery, 905 N. Washington St. Cost: $5; all-ages welcome.
Empyrean Farewell to Madison Show - The local music landscape continues to shift, as Empyrean Coffee House makes ready to move to The Big Dipper. A farewell show for the Madison St. space brings a heavyweight lineup of Empyrean's local stars, including Josh Hedlund, Karli Fairbanks, The Booze Fighters and Oil of Angels at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 23, for the last time at Empyrean Coffee House's original address, 154 S. Madison St. Cost: $6, all ages welcome.
Supersonic Soul Pimps - It's going to be a funky affair when rock-hybrid freaks Super Sonic Soul Pimps return to town for a show with local support from Civilized Animal and La Cha-Cha at 9 p.m. on Friday, December 18, at The Blvd., 230 W. Riverside Ave. Cost: $10; 21-and-older welcome.
