It's not often a hip-hop legend comes to Spokane, unless you're talking about Del The Funky Homosapien.
Spokane always represents for Del, and his visit last Tuesday to the Blvd. wasn't any different.
The show started early, at 6 p.m., and after a slew of local and touring opening acts, including a surprise set by Souls of Mischief leader A-Plus, Del took the stage at like 11 p.m. He played a 54-minute set, ripping through classics while lacing about half of his set with improv freestyle rhymes.
Check the video panel to see a special two-part episode of The Som Show, featuring exclusive footage of the live show along with an extensive interview with Del in his hotel room before the show.
In the interview portion, Del talks about the chance that he may not ever release his long-awaited Deltron 3030 sequel, given the current state of the music industry, plus other challenges of being an independent artist in the digital age of free downloads and sheisty labels.
